Description: Leonurus cardiaca (Motherwort) is a herbaceous perennial plant in the mint family. The stems of Motherwort are normally erect, square and slightly pubescent. The plant leaves have serrated margins, dark green above, pale below. and are palmately lobed with long petioles. The flowers are small, sit in the axil between leaf and upright stem. Motherwort is now found worldwide, spread largely due to its use as a herbal remedy.
