Description

Dianthus chinensis (China pink) is an herbaceous perennial plant that grows to 6-12 in. (15-30 cm) tall and 6-9 in. (15-22 cm) wide. It is native to China. The flowers are white, pink, or red, small, 3-4 cm in diameter. It is in flower from April to June, and the seeds ripen from July to September. The leaves are blue-green, linear-lanceolate, 3-5 cm long and 2-4 cm wide, with margin entire or denticulate. It prefers in full sun, well-drained soils.
