Description

Gardenia jasminoides, (common gardenia or cape jasmine) is an evergreen shrub that grows to 2 to 8 feet tall and wide. It is native to southern China and Japan . The dark green leaves are opposite or rarely ternate, thick, glossy, oblanceolate or elliptic, 3-25 cm long and 1.5-8 cm wide. White, fragrant flowers that blooms from March to July. It prefers in full sun or semi-shade, and moist, humus-rich, well-drained, acidic soil.
