Description

Lycoris radiata (spider lily, hurricane lily, surprise lily) is a plant in the amaryllis family, It native to China. Spider lily is a bulbous perennial that grows to 12-24 in.(30-60 cm) tall by 12-18 in.(30-46 cm) wide. Bulbs subglobose, 1-3 cm in diameter. The leaves are dark green, narrowly ligulate, about 15 cm long and 0.5 cm wide. The red flowers are arranged in umbels. It blooms in late August or September. It prefers in full sun to part shade, and organically rich, medium moisture, well-drained soils.
